aperture records is excited to welcome back Oberman Knocks with a brand new four track EP: Wrecque Byte Quarters.
Following on from two amazing albums to date, Oberman Knocks continues to grow and evolve as an artist, this time stepping it up a notch in the field of musical experimentation.
This four track EP hits you hard with shards of metallic sounds, broken fragments and abandoned beats, making you wander through a valley of abstraction. Dwelling on the darker side as always, but with an almost bleaker perspective, Knocks continues to show a desire to go beyond the realms of the norm, remaining obscure in a delirious fashion. Never an easy listen, but certainly rewarding, 'Wrecque Byte Quarters' reignites a genre that has been too close to dormant for far too long.
"Images of dystopia, rust, abandoned factories, sorta the place where an underground rave might take place."
"Deliciously murky but sharp as a fresh blade. Loving these. ‘Quephan’ is fine work indeed. Twisted. But fine work nonetheless. Top EP."
"Great electro sounds, nice hard beats and good arrangements using sounds effects well blended into the tracks. Very exciting music, awesome tracks."
"Great, involved and twisted soundscapes. Liking it."
The mallet percussionist and improviser's solo debut is flush with nostalgic melodies and stirring dissonances—a rich, experimental universe well worth exploring. Bandcamp Album of the Day Jan 15, 2021

Astonishingly good electronic tunes for a tenner and for a good cause. As well as titans 808 State, Autechre, Plaid, B12, etc... the lesser known artists shine. Get and enjoy! Played Quandary Wand at my wedding after Halcyon by Orbital. :) Egg Wizard
